Helen Asencio Herrera
Shout out to Helen Asencio Herrera – our Employee of the Season!
Helen has been part of both the EnrichEd and NurturEd programs since October 2024. Beginning as a Teacher’s Assistant, Helen quickly moved up to Assistant Administrator, and now Administrator of EnrichEd McGuire. During the day, Helen also supports NurturEd Smithfield in between her shifts at EnrichEd.

She moved up fast into leadership, which already says a lot but it’s really how she connects with people that stands out. She knows how to joke and have fun with the kids but can also be serious when needed. Everyone kids, staff, and parents feels comfortable around her. Even when she’s gone for a day you can feel it and the kids are always asking where she is. Our site might be small but she’s built a real sense of family here that makes it feel like home.”

Never has Helen walked into work without a smile on her face. She is genuine and kind to every child, parent, EnrichEd staff, or school staff that she encounters, and simply her presence lifts the mood of the site. Under her leadership, both the children and staff feel safe, protected, and understood. Whether she’s at the door sharing a funny story with a parent about their child, or sharing treats she bought for the staff to enjoy before our work shift, Helen finds a way to connect with any and everyone. She is selfless, generous, and caring, and carries EnrichEd McGuire on her back with humility and grace. Every day, all of us staff come together to be apart of the EnrichEd McGuire community. But the truth is, EnrichEd would not be the same without Miss Helen.”
